The company was founded and is managed by James E. Whitaker who brings over thirty-six years of personal investigation and practical business management experience to our clients. Mr. Whitaker is a retired law enforcement officer who at the time of his retirement held the rank of Lieutenant. He was the Commander of the Detective Division for a municipal police department in southwestern Ohio. Later, he served as the International Security Director for a shopping mall developer based in Sydney, Australia. He most recently served as the Executive Director of the International Association of Arson Investigators located near Washington, DC. This organization has 65 chapters worldwide and has over 8,000 members.
Mr. Whitaker is a retired Claims Executive with a large regional Property & Casualty insurance carrier. Mr. Whitaker began his career as a Special Investigator and eventually was promoted to Manager of the Special Investigation Unit (SIU). As a result of the success of that unit, he was promoted to Claims Executive. While still overseeing the SIU, he was also responsible for the reorganization of much of the Home Office Claims operations. These included Legal Support, Claims Automation, Subrogation, Salvage, Medical Specialty Support, and Agency Claims Service. This hands-on executive level management experience provides a valuable resource for both our corporate and insurance clients.
Mr. Whitaker expects superior technical knowledge from those who represent our firm. He has attained a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice Administration and a Master’s Degree in Business Management, with a concentration on Organizational Design, both from Myers University in Cleveland, Ohio. In addition, he is a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA and remains active within that organization. He has served as Vice Chairman on the Board of Regents for the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and as a member of the adjunct faculty. He is a Certified Fraud Examiner, a Certified Protection Professional, and a Certified Insurance Fraud Investigator. It is this level of commitment to cutting edge knowledge and expertise from our staff that our clients have come to expect and appreciate.
Jim has been a featured lecturer at many national and international fraud seminars and workshops. He has been a featured guest on a syndicated TV show and has been a guest expert for both local and national news broadcasts regarding fraud related issues. He has written and published articles for Claims Magazine and Insurance Journal. He currently serves on both the Investigations and Insurance Fraud Councils for ASIS International and is a past member of the Property Casualty Insurance Association of America (PCI) Fraud Sub-Committee.
